Let The Christmas Season Begin!!!

Mom has given her permission from the grave...

LET THE CHRISTMAS SEASON BEGIN

My BFF, son and I am going out Black Friday afternoon to a few select stores (Gordmans, Old Time Pottery, etc.) and look.  The only thing on my list is Christmas cards.  It's time to work on my cards while listening to Christmas music, smelling my pine candles and sipping coffee at my dining room table which has been moved so I can look out the window.

So if I don't have you on my Christmas List, please email me your name and addfress to

I LOVE to send cards, write notes in them, etc.

It's part of the Christmas mantra of peace on earth, good will towards cherished friends and YOU are part of my wealth of cherished friends.  What would I do without this blog????

It's also time for the Snow Watch!

It's simply NOT the holiday season without some snow.

We don't have to get craazy about it...

Just enough for me to go to the meadow and build a snowman and make snowangels.

How I'm getting off the ground after the snowangels remains a mystery...

The hightlights of MY Christmas season (never thought you'd ask! tee hee hee

Send Christmas Cards

Make Cookies
Watch Christmas specials, like the 25 Days of Christmas on ABC, as well as Christmas Hallmark movies, White Christmas, Meet Me in St. Louis and Lifetime Christmas movies.

Decorate the front door with a wreath and two lighted fake trees on either side of the front door outside and decorate my living room and hang my Chrismon wreath I made last year.  I will take pics this year~promise!

Sit in my recliner, sip coffee and listen to Christmas carols, both old and new~TransSiberian Orchestra, The Jingle Bell Woof song, Snoopy's Christmas, to name a few.

Choose a gift, handmade or reasonably priced for each of my children and now grandchildren and SIL (hey, once you ask my daughter to marry you you're a part of the family!)

Decorate the tree in red and silver and as many Believe words as I can find which is none yet but hope springs eternal!  Even if I have to make them!

And just how would I do that?

Sculpt from wire or cut out of styrofoam (ix-nay the styrofoam...I suffered enough last year cutting out the Chrismons!)?  Suggestions welcomed!

But especially CHRISTMAS EVE!!!

We get together with BFF and our combined families for the same menu we started about 35 years ago:

Italian Beef on hard rolls
Texas Potatoes
Corn Casserole
Strawberry Pretzel salad
Little Smokies wrapped in bacon with brown sugar, broiled.
Christmas cookies and varied desserts, but mostly likely a coconut cake.  There's a story there I'll share sometime.

We exchange presents and then our family goes to Midnight Mass either at the Cathedral or at Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

It is the highlight of my Christmas season.

We also leave our tree up until Epiphany in January.

Enjoy the Reason for the Season, be kind to yourselves, do what you want during your season, don't stress and always, ALWAYS
BELIEVE!!!

LOVE how much you love Christmas. Us, too! It is indeed the most magical time of the year. Here's wishing you a beautiful season, Nessie. We love you.

You might be able to find Believe wooden signs at Wal-Mart or Hobby Lobby to paint. Just a though. I still have your Christmas blog heading as well.

My favorite part of Christmas is spending time with family, church, and Christmas Music - I have 113 Christmas songs on my Christmas play list.
