Saturday Kiereney Jo Update

Thanks so much, Hallie, for updating yesterday.

Kelli and her dad just relieved me from the hospital for the day unless Kiereney gets worse.

Yesterday they put a central line into her right jugular vein(tried the left first and couldn't get it--had a surgeon come over to do the procedure right in her room...used to be an OR procedure) because she has blown every IV in both arms and hands. The pain keeps getting ahead of the pain meds so her Dr. came in a while ago and adjusted the pain meds. She has been without fever for 24 hours so the Infectious Disease specialist has cleared her for surgery(he couldn't find any source of infection even in the spinal fluid so it may have just been a flukey virus she got at one of the hospitals or in ER) but we still don't have a time. I highly doubt a neurosurgeon will have Sunday hours so I'm hoping for Monday or Tuesday.

I can't believe it's the 13th...I have lost time since last Saturday.

Roger had to go to the Dr. on Friday as he is coming down with something respiratory and if we don't get him started on meds quickly, he goes into pneumonia. That's all I need...one at one hospital, one at the other one across town. He is on a Z pack and inhaler so I hope it catches whatever germ has decided to invade him. He had rales on the left lung so they sent him to the hospital for a chest x-ray and we'll hear about that on Monday.

Please know how deeply thankful I am to all of you for your prayers and good thoughts. When I can't see how I can comfort her when the pain is so bad and she hyperventilates and passes out your thoughts and prayers wash over me and give me the words and strength to get her through the moment.

I hopefully will be able to update on Sunday. If not, Hallie has graciously offered to update whenever I need her to. She has been so faithful to call and check on us when I don't get a chance to update her. The best friends I have ever had come through this little computer screen. I am so blessed to have all of you.

Glad to hear that you are getting a chance to take a break. And also thrilled to hear that she's been cleared for surgery.

I am praying all the time.

I'm at your service for updates whenever you need me.

Keep in touch. And tell Roger to take care of himself.

Hallie

Ness,
Please, please, please rest today the best you can. You also do not need to get sick. I am glad to hear that Kiereney is cleared for surgery. I hope that will be what she needs to get better and the pain to go away. Tell Roger to take it easy also. I have been praying so hard for ya'll, and will continue. Please put me on your text list. Hallie has my number and was supposed to give it to you.

Now rest today and tonight, so you will be better able to care for your sweet baby girl.

Know that you and the whole family are in my prayers and we love you!

God Bless~
Debbie

Ness,

I'm praying like crazy for KJ, you, Roger and the rest of your family. I will try to call you tomorrow. I just know how little rest you get while you are in the hospital so I haven't wanted to call and possibly wake you up. Thinking about you all of the time.

Please make sure that you take care of yourself as well. We sure don't need you getting sick.

Ness-
Glad you were able to get a break and so thankful things are moving in a direction that will get Kiereney to surgery. I know as a mom it is so hard when we can't fix it for our babies. Take care of yourself-I know everyone is saying the same thing-but we mean it :)
Praying for you and yours
Tracy

Awww, Nessie, once again, I am so sorry and so worried about KJ, you and Roger! Please know that you are in my constant thoughts and prayers. I pray that the surgeons will be able to put KJ on the schedule for tomorrow so that she can move past the fear and stress of surgery, and move onto the phase of healing. Of course she is scared, frustrated and a bit paranoid! The poor thing has been through so much and still is having to deal with pain and sickness. I feel absolutely terrible for her. I wish I could give her a big hug. I wish I could give YOU a big hug. Go ahead and put me on your text list, too. Hallie has my number so just have her pass it along to you.

Hang on, dear heart. Kiereney will get through this and she will be healthy again. I just know it. Please update when you can. Until then, I will be holding KJ and your family very close in my prayers.

Love you, friend,
Debbie

Ness, we are all here for you. If you need to vent and let off some frustration, please lean on us..

Prayers are continuing for Kierney, we both know she will feel better when that shunt is in and that ICP is down.

Hang in there, hugs!
