Interrupting this hiatus...

First of all, thank you so much Steph for my new blog screen. You will never know how much you touched my heart and made my day with your talent. There will be a special place for you and your generous heart in Heaven some day, but not soon, I hope!

I ask for your prayers as we have a lot going on in this family that needs resolution.

Kelli has moved in with us to look for a job in our area as after over a year of searching, she has not found a job in economically depressed Southern Illinois. This is affecting her in every way possible as it would anyone else who wanted to make a living and wasn't born into a family that could support you. She will be making every effort to secure a job and will live with us during the week and go home to Kiereney, Brandy, Molly and Savannah on weekends. Her father has not been very supportive of this plan and Saturday was not a good day for either of my daughters as their father and stepmother ranted and raved with no reason.

We are still searching every avenue for help for Kiereney and in the mean time, Kiereney is going to try and get into a program at the nursing home where her grandfather is living for training that will enable her to work as an aide at the nursing home. I was there visiting with her grandfather yesterday and it would be a very nice place to work. It is not your normal nursing home and is very well cared for. The staff is nice, supportive and has been very good to her grandfather. I don't know if Kiereney's health will support this, but she feels she has to do something to support herself and her medical bills. All we can do is let her try this.

My beloved granddog, Katie, has also come to live with us. She is going through a form of doggie Alzheimer's and needs more care than Kiereney is able to give her with Kiereney's ongoing health condition. Kelli, Roger and I are all working with Katie to keep her comfortable and happy.

Michael has made it to Virginia to start the process of looking for an apartment and a job when he is finished with officers training in April at Ft. Sill provided that he does not get deployed. He will be returning to Illinois on New Year's Eve and will leave on the 2nd to return to Ft. Sill.

I miss you all but my time is filled with helping my family and although I haven't blogged until now, I still read and try to stay up with all of you. I will return January 1 with the the new year and updates.

Take care and celebrate safely on New Years Eve. 2009 is going to be great for all of us!

We have missed you Ness but we also understand that you need to do what you need to do. What do you mean about Michael finding a job for when he is done with OBC? He is in the Army, isn't he? Take care and I will be sending positive thoughts your way.

Ness, we're thinking of all of you during this hard time. Just know that God's hand is on your family - and even though things may feel out of control now - He is always in control.

I'm here if you need a friendly ear.

You are one helluva gal, Ness--and I love you dearly. I'm sad I missed your call, but I'm around now so call whenever you want or if you need to. 2009 is going to be a better year all the way around, Ness. That's what I'm praying for...and I can't wait to spend 2009 with ya!
