2007 Wrap

All in all, 2007 has been tolerable.

I guess it's been a coaster year for us. Just maintaining. No new surprises. The dachsies have all been well and considering we've had gastroenteritis x 2 dachsies in the past as well as one back surgery, we'll take this year and be grateful.

On the offspring front, Michael made it through a month at LDAC(more ROTC training) in Seattle, Washington in June and has done well at college albeit very busy with writing papers and fulfilling a leadership role in ROTC as well as doing National Guard. A lawsuit against him by a person out looking to make a fortune for a wreck that happened in 2003 was settled out of court in November(thanks be to GEICO).

The girls moved to Illinois from Virginia in August and are still looking for jobs(So. Illinois mentality but I won't go into that now. I'll save that for one of my hellfire-and-damnation-sermons).

Roger went to California for business in August for a week and me and the 2 dachsies roughed it(our A/C went out while he was gone). This was my first full year back in Belleville, Illinois since 1970(grew up here) and it was great to re-explore my old stompin' grounds. When the girls car died for good, we let them have our Jeep and have been making friends with buslines, Metro trains and good ole-fashioned walking, renting the occasional car when we've needed to make a trip beyond our county.

I guess my biggest leap into 2007 was discovering the world of blogging and after spending a great deal of time reading finally went screamin' and kickin' into starting a blog, only to find I really, really like it and have made some absolutely wonderful friends and hope to deepen those friendships in the coming year.

Have a happy, healthy and peaceful New Year's Eve. Mend the fences that need mending and take care of you.
