Another Milestone on the Path

I'm sure not every mom was as anal was I was/am with the birth of each child(for which we thank God on a daily basis).

Just for starters, choosing the name of my child had to meet the following criteria:
1. It had to look good when it was written out.
2. It had to sound good at Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation, graduations and weddings.
3. It had to yell good, as in Michael Timothy Dwyer(no, I never yelled at him)more like Kelli Lynne Dwyer or Kiereney Jo Dwyer, quit rolling your eyes at me/turn the TV down, get in the car for school now---you get the drift.

It would be important for the milestones that would occur in their lives.

Yesterday Michael walked in the apartment and handed me a brochure with a big grin on his face.

Woo Hoo!!!!

It's time to order grad announcements!!!

Just like high school, this will be a MAJOR PROJECT FOR MOM. First I decide who gets them, compile the address list, buy a new black pen to address them, order them along with thank you notes for Michael to complete.

Yeah, major project for Mom!

It's some of the perks I am entitled to by going through the repeat C-section. It's in the rule book somewhere.....thumb, thumb, ahhh, here it is, Page 53 Mom will be in charge of all birth announcements, birthday party invites, Church ceremonial announcements and graduation announcements. See? Told ya!

Besides, Michael's response to this? "No need to pay money for them, Mom, just send an email or tell people on the phone or something."

I almost fainted DEAD.AWAY.TO.THE.LIVING.ROOM.FLOOR

Does he NOT understand?

This will be my last official Mom act for him as because he is a boy, I've lost the joy of doing wedding invitations. That will be up to the future DIL.

But until then, I'm gonna be in Mom High Hog Graduation Heaven!!!!

I've got a luncheon to plan after he is commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant the day after graduation. He graduates with his BA in Liberal Arts(History) at 5 p.m. the day before(Friday) and with elderly grandparents to consider(who HAVE to eat at 5 p.m. on the DOT with no exceptions), having a supper after the ceremoney would not work. I was going to have a brunch the next day before the commissioning ceremoney because they ALWAYS have the ceremony in the afternoon. EXCEPT THIS YEAR it's 10:30 in the morning. So we will lunchon afterwards at this beautiful place:

Giant City Lodge

This is in the middle of a beatiful state park with hills and waterfalls and everyone gorgeous. Mother Nature did some of her best work at this place. And the food is to die for.

Stay tuned tomorrow for the Quilt update in living color!

Have a great S*A*T*U*R*D*A*Y!

Oh honey, I just can't believe how proud I am of Michael!!! BBM is a history freakshow...I bet him and Michael would have a ton to talk about.

Is Giant City Lodge in the area? We're state park nuts, but that doesn't look familiar to me. Hhmmm...

What time should I arrive? And I'd like to sit at the MAIN table - I feel that Michael would want that.

And I think it would be appropriate for Michael to give me a PRADA bag as a THANK YOU FOR COMING SO FAR TO SEE ME gift.

I'm just sayin..

Hallie

Now WAIT one cotton pickin' minute! I want a seat at the head table too, just because.. I like to "be in the loop" like that. No need to bother with the Prada Bag either, 'cuz I don't do girly.

I think it's time to set up the boxing ring (ok, I'm lying, it's a kiddie pool filled with jell-o & fruit cocktail) for Ms. Hallisicle and myself to duke it out over that head table invite that never was. Shirts vs. skins baby, don't forget to pack Mr. H. when we meet up.

Oh, so sorry Ness.. I forgot I'm supposed to be commenting for you, and not about Hallie. See how evil she is? Trying to take your spotlight. Yeah, that's what she is up to. See, she did it AGAIN!!!

Mmmmooooooommmmmm.... she's derailin' me!!!!

What a beautiful place to celebrate, Ness. I know you must be so proud of him.

Boys are so funny when it comes to announcements and things. I'll never forget the thank you card I got from my nephew when he graduated. His mother absolutely insisted he send thank you cards to all of us who sent him graduation gifts. So he did. He addressed them and mailed them. They were completely blank inside.

LOL
