Not Much Has Changed....

UPDATE @ 5:12 EST

Just talked to Ness. Kiereney will be discharged tomorrow in the care of her sister. The final diagnosis is in fact viral meningitis which is the good kind to have. (seems silly to say - neither kind is good in my mind) She will be sent home on a slew of pain relieving meds and will need about a month to feel totally better.

Ness and Roger have their plates full: Kiereney's illness which has thrown them all for a loop, Michael's birthday (yesterday - Happy Belated Michael!), and Michael's graduation/commissioning ceremony. They are rallying as a family and are finding the strength to forge ahead. Their ability to keep on keepin' on is truly impressive.

I have Kiereney's home address if anyone would like to send her a card. I also have Ness's address. I forgot to ask Ness if she was ok with me posting them so I think I'll hold off. If you'd like either address, email me and I'll get it to you ASAP.

Ness is able to read blogs and some of the comments so please don't forget to let her know we're all thinking of her. (and the family) And keep the prayers coming.

Will keep blogging for Ness until she tells me to stop. Guess you're stuck with me for a bit longer. :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just heard from Ness. (another message as I was away from phone) Ness sounds more exhausted than ever but how could she not be?
Kiereney is still inpatient and is in intense pain. They are giving her morphine for the pain and then Zophran (sp?) for the nausea. Her vital signs are all over the place, the lowest being 90/50. Ness said she had a rough night.
Ness promised to text me with more info when she has it.
For now, please continue to lift Kiereney up in prayer as well as the rest of the family.
It's times like this that I wish we all lived closer to one another. It would be nice to be there for Ness and to help her through the awful waiting.
Oh dear, I had hoped to get news of some sort this morning on a more positive note. I've known Ness and family now for 13 years.
Will continue to keep her and family in prayer!
Wow...the waiting has to be agonizing for the family. I woke up several times in the night, and immediately began to pray.
Thanks, Hallie for posting all updates. I know Ness from another e-mail list (thus, like Maribeth, have known Ness & family for 13 years) & just got her blog URL this AM. When I heard the news about Kiereney last night, I started to pray right away...am keeping that up! BIG hugs to you, Ness (and gentle ones for Kiereney)!
Sending the strongest of prayers for Kiereney! Ness, please take care of yourself. This has got to be taking a whole lot out of you. I am sure that you are rallying, right now, but be aware of the crash that will happen after things settle down.
Hallie, thanks so much for the update.
Hugs,
Deb
Ness, wishing a fast recovery for Kierney and peace for your mind through all of this. You have a great deal going on right now and need to make sure to take time to take care of Ness. Then you are better able to take care of others. Lots of hugs!
