One.Month.From.Today

My middle child, the miracle child that I carried through nursing school, will be at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma in Officer Training.
Be still my scared, proud heart.
Where did the time go? He just graduated and was commissioned yesterday in May, or so it seems...
I am so not ready for this.
He will be only 8 hours away and will be able to make it home for Thanksgiving and Christmas for which I am so blessed. But he goes back after Christmas on 5 January and it will be 6 months before I see him.
I'm preparing my heart for I know he will see duty in Afghanistan the way the war is going. He is proud of what he does and he will be well trained. I gave him to God when he was born and is only on loan to me.
In our area alone, we have lost three soldiers in the last week. Please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers.
Roger has been to ER this week for a very swollen right leg/ankle/knee. They ruled out a blood clot, yet on the x-ray a bone chip showed up on his ankle so he has an apt. with the podiatrist tomorrow morning. Although his uric acid level was somewhat elevated and they put him on Colchicine for gout, this isn't acting like gout. Please keep him in your prayers.
KJ, depending on Roger's outcome tomorrow, will be going home to begin life anew sometime this weekend. Headaches are a thing of the past and the 21 staples came out on Monday. She is sore but so very happy to be out of pain. We were told the shunt could get infected so to keep her well. It is so shocking to see her eyes twinkling and a smile on her sweet little face after five months of pain.
I will update as I can about Roger tomorrow.
Enjoy your weekend.

First of all...I am so happy for KJ. It must seem like a new life for her being pain free. Go and enjoy KJ!
Now Roger, I'm so sorry about your leg pain...in some ways I can relate and it is consuming to have constant pain. I will be pryaing for your helaing.
Nessie, You gave your beautiful son to the Lord when he was born. He is doing what he needs to do...I know that doesn't help your heart at all but we will all be praying and lighting candles for his safety. We are so proud of your young man and his willingness to stand up for us. Thank you Michael. God Bless You. Amen and Amen.

I am so proud of Michael! This is exciting and scary all at once!
Please give him a hug for me when you see him next, and tell him thank you.

Prayers are being answered, yay! KJ!

Roger needs to get some much needed rest, and so do you...

Ness-
You know if you need anything or where to go for information if Micheal is deployed-you know you can come to me! He will continue to be in my prayers for his safety and well being. You as well I will be thinking of-I know you will be brave and proud-but I also know it will have it's difficult moments. I am here-my friend.

Ness - you will not be alone when Michael leaves. We will all be here for you. Standing in the gap, holding you and Roger and Kelli and KJ up for as long as you need us. Prayers have already begun here.

Hope you have a great weekend. Keep us posted on Roger!

My friend's husband just moved to Ft Sill.
I hope Roger feels better, and I'm so happy to hear the good news about KJ!
