Christmas Wrap

I want to take the time now to tell each and every one of my Blog Followers Merry Christmas and may 2009 be a wonderful year for you.

I have enjoyed my Christmas season...I got to send out cards, I got a tree, I listened to music, I made some cookies and saw some Christmas lights.

Christmas is not about having presents under the tree. It's about being with the ones you love, sharing the food you have and knowing that for this one day you are together, your family is safe and you can put the worries aside and pick them up on December 26.

And it's about the hope that was given in that stable many years ago. Hope that you will make it through this day, hope that you will make it through the next day and hope that your family will be taken care of because you don't seem to be able to do it yourself.

And it's about love and strength that will put a 2nd Lt. through duplicate paperwork and red tape today on the day he was supposed to leave to get with his family for Christmas, that will allow your daughters to open their eyes one more day and deal with their pain and not give up that help is on the way somehow/somewhere, and will allow you to see the love in the eyes of your husband who is your touchstone, your best friend and is there 24/7 when the times are good and when the times are not so good.

Please keep our soldiers in your prayers and thank them in your hearts and minds for the willingness to serve our country and its people.

And keep each other in your thoughts and prayers for we each have a journey and the road is not always easy.

DachshundStrong is going to be on hiatus until January 1.

Hey, you are supposed to be on a break!! But thanks for the wishes for Shay. Things are looking up. The airports runways are clear and Alaska Air has almost caught up with their flights. I just hope they can continue through tomorrow night., Then it can dump snow like crazy.
