Balderdash!

I guess doctors ARE human, too. Got to the doctor's office yesterday only to be told that his doctor called in sick and we were rescheduled for 10 a.m. today. He goes on to work, Michael and I head 2 hours south to wrap presents and deck the halls. Life is good at this point.

Until I got a call about 3 from DH saying he was home, he was just too "wiped and weak" to go to the Christmas dinner his office was giving that night. Michael and I started for home, got caught in the leftovers of the fog London sent over and it was a slow trip. Michael is also an EMT and he decided that although he was using accessory muscles to breath, that his color was good and if Roger wanted to stay put and wait for the Dr. apt. tomorrow(now today) it was fine. THEN Roger tells me that, well, he didn't take the Metro home, that he was so weak and wiped that 2 of his coworkers drove him from St. Louis across the river to Illinois and escorted him up to our apartment! With this man, actions speak louder than words. I am so worried. I may be calling on all dachshunds to play "break the doctor's wishbone" if he doesn't get some tests ordered today and do what is necessary to find out what is wrong with my husband. I feel he is literally slipping away before my eyes. And yeah, I'm scared.

I did get the pleasure yesterday of surprising my 2 little guys, Carter and Cade, when I picked them up at daycare. Kathy had not told them I was coming down. They were watching Nemo, glued to the TV and I said, "Yeah, that looks like Nemo alright!" They froze in their chairs, turned around, squealed and I was covered with hugs from a 1 and 2 year old screaming, "Aunt Nessa, I love you, where's Uncle Roger and Michael?" Michael is their human jungle gym. They tried turning Aunt Nessa into one but the fibro wouldn't cooperate. There is nothing to compare with the look in a little one's eyes when they see their Christmas tree lit for the first time. Michael got it done right before they got home and when he plugged it in, it was a holy moment. Time stopped and 2 little boys just stared and very reverently and quietly said, "Oh, look at the tree. I love the tree. " and were in total mesmerization for several minutes. Another Kodak moment of the Christmas season to add to my memory book.

I want to take the time to wish each and every one of you a wonderful and blessed Merry Christmas. I have been thrilled beyond thrilled to make your acquaintances and hope that 2008 will find us blogging in a world of peace. And please take time Christmas morning to pause and remember our service people away from their families this day and send up a prayer that they have a safe day.

Demand they do tests - you know your husband and if you have a gut feeling something is wrong, you are probably right. I am going to pray like crazy that he is fine.

Please keep us posted.
