Favorite Things-Part 2

I had a snap fit the other day and went through the house snapping things that are important to me although believe when I tell you that I am NOT a Material Girl!

This is a candle lamp I found when I went to pick out my new living furniture when we moved to Belleville almost 2 years ago. It was on the clearance shelf. I am a match freak and this candle lamp seemed to bring all the colors of my navy recliners, sage/burgandy/gold navy couch and the rest of the room together.

This is my husband's pride and joy(next to me, of course!) And living around me, you KNOW they have to have names. There are 6 big cichlids named Do, Wah, Diddy Diddy, Dum, Diddy and Do. The plescostomus is named Jack and the other fish for which neither of us can remember his species is named Jeremiah...catching on to the musical theme here? The fish have attitude so I like them. They also know if I walk up to the tank to check up on them they'll most likely get a fish treat. We had a clown fish named Clarabelle but she is in Fish Heaven. I was just informed it's time to buy 2 clown fish...

We have a swingin' Saturday happening....cleaning carpet and if we're still alive to tell it, going to Metro across the river to Forest Park and go to the Art Museum. Then we're watching Caddyshack tonight so I can give Mr. H my review.

I am also nearing the end of Jodi Picoult's book The Tenth Circle and gotta find time to finish it. Her books are mindblowers and every one has caught me by the throat saying, "Read me til you're done, do not pass GO, do not collect $200!"

Tomorrow hubby and I will be playing dueling laptops as we both have to work and then I think we just may have to walk down the street to the local and chow down on some of their BBQ ribs. Since Illinois went smoke-free last week, it shouldn't be too bad in there. Neither one of us can tolerate cigarette smoke inside.

Michael is doing National Guard this weekend and KJ is waiting anxiously by the phone for a call back from the general manager who is going to have her meet with another general manager. She SO wants this job and I WANT her to have it, so any chants, body part crossings or prayers would be most appreciated! This 21 y/o of mine needs a major confidence boost and this job could do it.

Have a safe, fun, happy weekend and do something extra special for yourself because I say you each are SO WORTH IT!

Awww Good Luck KJ!!! Nothing like the anticipation of getting a much-deserved job!

The Museum, huh? I'm not sure I've ever been there, is that sad?

Love the fish. I have one. Count it...ONE fish left. I'm a horrible, fish-killing, fish mama. I do much better with cats (I'm sure Dexter is happy he's a cat, not a fish).

John is waiting to hear what you think about Caddyshack. Be gentle when you have to tell him how bad it was!! :-)
