Let It Snow~Let It Snow~Puleeze Let It Snow!!!

The local weather dudes and duddettes have been screaming 4 inches of snow since Sunday. Now we're up to 8 inches and it's supposed to start this afternoon. Woo Hoo!!!!! Hallelulah, Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition. I WANT SNOW!!!! I WANT TO SLED DOWN A HILL LIKE WHEN I WAS IN THIRD GRADE! I WANNA MAKE A BIG SNOW MAN!!!

The last time I saw significant snow was the year we lived in Buffalo, NY in 1994. Buffalo knew how to do snow!(over 100 inches that year) But, they also knew how to do lake effect snow and whiteouts and nothin' says prayin' like being on an interstate in NY and all of a sudden you have a whiteout. You can't see, you can't pull off the road because you will be hit by another car. Michael and Kiereney were like 7 and 8 and we were on the way back from Illinois after Christmas. Luckily Roger, the Buffalo snow native, was driving and refused to stop. We drove an hour under these conditions until we could find an exit. By the time we found the exit, it was lifting so Roger pressed on(why I ended up marrying him after refusing to stop for the night remains to be known). The kids are always throwing up to me the classic quote from that night that I said ad nauseum to them, "Pray babies, pray!" as we creeped through the whiteout. I knew life as we knew it was over. I hold the record for warp-speed Hail Mary's and Our Fathers.

But I don't hold grudges...I STILL LOVE SNOW!

So I'm watching and waiting and preparing.

Order groceries to be delivered this afternoon-check!
Walk to Walgreens before the snow starts and pick up our prescriptions-getting there!

Saturday could get interesting...St. Louis is having their big Mardi Gras parade and it's a guaranteed disaster in the making plus Obama will be holding a rally there the same day. Anyone with sense would stay home, work on their quilt, read and watch movies. Roger has sense. I have the "but this might be the future President and I wanna shake his hand!" Delusional, delusional, delusional. Maybe it's the inner child wanting to do it....yeah, let's go with that.

Think snow for me...pretty please.

I ~promise~ there will be snow playing pictures on the blog Saturday if my snow comes...

The problem with wishing for snow for you means that it will inevitably come my way afterwards! Right now I'm praying that the weather holds out long enough for me to make an hour trip tomorrow, one way. I hate driving in bad weather. And it's calling for freezing rain with snow. It don't get any better than this. Wait. Yes it does. No Snow is better!

Hey thanks for stopping by! I love the snow too! When I lived in CT we would get snow all the time. I can't tell you how thrilled I am that Idaho is having the worst winter it has had in over 13 years. I'll be praying for more snow right along with you.

It's gonna be a long night!

Hi Ness, dear heart!

I am squeezing my eyes closed praying with all of my being that the lovely white stuff comes your way! My husband and I went to college in Syracuse, so we are very familiar with that Lake-effect snow(part of why we moved to sunny CA), but that still didn't stop us from missing snow. We decided to buy a second home in the mountains of So Cal where it does snow, so that our girls could grow up experiencing the fun!

Hoping you get enough to make a snowman. Make me a snow angel!

Big hugs,
Debbie
