Tribute to Anderson Cooper Lee

Anderson Cooper Lee, known as Andy, crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge this afternoon.
He had greeted the day about 8 this morning with his characteristic meow from the top of the dryer where he held court.
Molly(the girls' Lab) woke Kiereney up crying and laying on top of Kiereney and when Kiereney got up, she saw Andy on the dryer in the same position as this morning. It was as if Molly was waking Kiereney up to let her know that Andy had died.
The girls rescued Andy a year ago last month from their dad's neighbor who Andy had adopted and she really didn't have room for another animal.
I have always been a dog person. Cats did not enter my life until my late teens when my father adopted a cat. Morris The Cat of TV Nine Lives catfood commercial fame, had my utmost respect. He had attitude and I admire that.
Andy reminded me of Morris. He had me from meow. We met on Thanksgiving last year at the kids' house. He stared at me and I stared at him and I said, "Hello Anderson Cooper Lee," and he said, "Meow," and a relationship began. I didn't get in his space and he didn't get in mine. I was allowed the living room at his house...if I entered the kitchen/dining room, he let me know that was his turf and I was allowed to share airspace as long as I understood that he ruled.
Gotta respect a cat that lays it out there and isn't a game player.
The kitchen island was his and don't even try to tell him otherwise. He would jump up on it as many times as you would take him off. No real reason, no food up there to pursue...he did it because he could.
He was a beautiful cat and I respected him. The girls treated him like their child. He was named after one of their favorite news broadcasters, Anderson Cooper, and the name Lee came from their grandpa who they dearly love.
He is dearly missed tonight by his girls.
Anderson Cooper Lee, you rocked, babe.
Enjoy the free catnip at the Rainbow Bridge and give a shout out to my beloved dogs who greeted you this afternoon.

Sending up an extra prayer for your girls today. I have a kitty - Scout - and I know how much love (and attitude!) they bring to a home.

Lovely tribute, Ness!

It is never easy losing a member of the family. I know it must be especially hard given what K has gone through in the past year herself. He had a great last year and he knew he was loved. That is what is important. Rest in peace ACL.
