Happy Birthday to Me!

It was your usual 58th birthday...

with a difference.

When asked what I wanted to do for my birthday, I said

NOTHING!!!

And so I did.

Nothing that required leaving the house, that is.

I worked on the new purse some and ran out of interfacing so put it away.

Colin and I cuddled in my room and fliiped through channels and snuggled.

I went downstairs at 4 and watched TV with Roger.

He fixed the most delicious one pot beef roast with potatoes and carrots and a 2 layer chocolate cake with chocolate chips in the batter and chocolate ganache icing.
To~die~for.

Michael sent me these.  I've never seen so many different kinds, sizes and colors of flowers in one vase in my life, hence the varies views around the vase.  One of the daisy-type flowers was as big as a saucer.  He wrote: " Another year old.  Another year wiser.  You are a wonderful mother.  I wish I could be there.  I owe you an awesome birthday cake.  Love, Michael"

I could have been thrilled with just the card.

The fibro monster apparently didn't like my yard beautification project so I've been down for the count every since.  When things start blooming I will post pics.

Today I get to go on a field trim for my yearly mammogram.  Takes longer to get ready and get there than it does to have the procedure done.

Doing a lot of library reading.  So easy to order the books online and get an email that they are ready to be picked up.  Reading Elizabeth Berg.  I don't know why....it was recommended in the library's monthly book reviews and so far, I like her.

Remember my dachsie friend Lennie who was brutally attacked by a chow-chow yesterday and is really messed up.  Came home with a drain, puncture wounds and sedated so don't know if his spinal cord was damaged yet or not.  Lennie is a dachsie with personality plus and got me through a lot when I got my cancer diagnosis.  His mom is Katie who is a real Southern peach.

Don't~stop~believin'---it's all we've got besides each other to get us through.
